On February 25th, we had our official installation of officers, the board of directors, and committee chairs. Thank you to the recreation committee, staff, and all our affiliates that helped make this virtual installation a successful one!

This year we want to focus on Diversity, Inclusion, and Teamwork. As you know this is not the work of one but the collective effort of all of us here at the association. All the committees and staff are working hard to help our members and the community.
We are continuing with our weekly zoom meetings where we connect and find out what’s new in our ever-changing real estate world. We are focusing on education by bringing speakers that are relevant to our business. Also, every week we share an “MLS Golden Nugget” because the MLS is so important to our business.
The Global and Cultural Diversity committee is a brand new committee for us. On the global side, this committee works to provide members with global market updates on inbound and outbound transactions through education and networking, as well as build partnerships with globally-minded real estate agents in the local market. On the Cultural Diversity side, the committee’s goal is to learn, celebrate, and respect our cultural differences. We had two highly successful events last month: “Global Real Estate Trends for 2021” which helped us celebrate Lunar New Year and “Honoring Black History Month”. And they have great ideas for the coming months.
The LatinX Committee has also been officially launched. This committee seeks to embrace, educate, and motivate our Latin community by providing them with resources provided by C.A.R., and with opportunities to grow in real estate, by lifting each other up and celebrating cultural differences.
The Education Committee is starting the Momentum 1 program again for new agents. They will also launch Momentum 2 for seasoned agents in the fall. They are working on bringing more classes, including some N.A.R. certifications.
The Housing Affordability Fund Committee received a C.A.R. grant for $25,000 to be given to buyers as a reimbursement for their home inspection. They are also working on some fundraising events to collect funds for C.A.R. HAF.
The Charity Committee would like to honor members who are going over and above for their community with the “Good Neighbor Award”. They will also be fundraising to help our community in need and launching the Be R.E.A.L. meetings to help members manage stress and have a safe place to share their issues.
The Recreation Committee is starting to plan for in-person events, stay tuned for details.
The YPN Committee is doing an Easter Bunny virtual/drive-by event so be sure to sign up for some Easter fun!
I want to encourage you to be part of any of the committees, and to be an active member of our association. One person can make a difference, but together we can change the world!
